In 1998 Laubach Literacy Ontario received financial support from the Ministry of Education and Training to support research initiatives in the literacy field. The Trainingpost sponsored web-based questionnaires developed by Wilfrid Laurier University and the Canadian Council on Social Development. Participants were encouraged to submit completed surveys to the researchers' mailboxes. All submissions were completely anonymous.
Survey of Laubach Ontario Certified Tutors Certified Tutors This survey was conducted for Laubach Literacy Ontario by a class of fourth year Honours Sociology students at Wilfrid Laurier University. The purpose of the study was to assess the quality and effectiveness of the Basic Tutor Training Workshop. LLO wanted to hear how volunteers felt about their initial tutor training and possible ideas for improvements. Thank you to all volunteers who participated. Computer Survey among Literacy Students & Practitioners The Canadian Council on Social Development conducted a study on computer and Internet access and their use in adult literacy programs. Our goal was to discover the extent to which computers are accessible to students and how useful computers are for learning. This project is supported by the Trillium Foundation and guided by representatives from various literacy programs in the province.
