However, while most children attend elementary and high school, many do not go on to continue their education.

As the world becomes more dependent on technology, there is a continuing need for individuals who know how to implement the systems that run this technology to meet the demand for it. These systems are growing increasingly more complex as technology consistently gets improved and more efficient. As the intricacies in the way manufacturing processes work becomes more prevalent in the industry, fewer people understand how they work and how to maintain them. Due to this fact, there is an increase in the demand for technologically adept professionals who have the training to handle these complex systems.

Ten years ago, many of the educational programs that are available in the technology genre did not exist. There are all sorts of ways to advance your career with continuing education. With work, kids, kids sport events, etc. you may think you cannot attend college to advance your career. The fact is that most of us are too busy to attend classes during conventional classroom times. Indeed, it’s tough to work a 40 hour work week and still make an 11am biology class. Certainly one of the most important decisions to make in continuing education is the school you will be attending. Naturally there are pros and cons to both public and private schools and the decision isn’t always easy. A number of factors will weigh heavily into your decision such as money, location, and course offerings. Before you commit to a school, be sure to consider the following factors in determining your education destination.

Private University- There is no doubt a certain amount of prestige that comes with attending a private university. There is also a much heavier tuition bill as well. If you will be attending college on an academic or athletic scholarship, a private university is probably the right choice for you. Private schools often have top notch professors and facilities and if you’re getting a free ride, you may as well go for the best.

Public University- Studies have shown that the important thing is getting your degree. In select circles, perhaps the private college diploma gets you the nod over someone who attended state school, but most of the time earnings are not much different over a lifetime for public school graduates over private. Once you have your degree and enter the work force, it will be your demonstration of skill and ability to work with others that will get you promoted and not the name on your alumni sweatshirt.

Even though you have the ability to switch schools later on, you are better off making the right decision from the start. Weigh your options but remember that a private school will cost you thousands more and student loans bills come fast.

It isn’t called correspondence school anymore, and the stigma that is causing you to question distance education is vanishing. The world of education is changing, people’s lives are hectic, and viewpoints about how we learn are evolving. Today, getting a degree online is an option millions of people throughout the world take advantage of.

Taking time from work to pursue an advanced degree like an MBA isn’t a popular option in these times. Working adults who wish to complete or further their studies or credentials are seeing more and more options for accomplishing their goal open up to them, and they’re taking advantage of it. While some may turn their nose down at the idea of distance learning, the Ivy Leagues and highly ranked aren’t among them:

Learning how to Play

A lot goes on in the educational system, especially when you go to college. If you want to earn a great income, you need to put a lot of work into giving your education all you’ve got, and learning everything you can related to your field. Bo you need to have some balance to your education, and that means you have to learn how to play.

Learning how to play can involve a lot of things. It can involve putting custom designed poker tables in your front room, so after a hard day of flexing your mental muscles you can kick back with your friends and play a few hands. It can mean taking a little time to play with a pet. And if you don’t have a pet to play with, you would be wise to get one. They really are great for remembering that life is supposed to have an element of fun to it, no matter how much work you may have to do. When it comes to becoming an educated person, fun is not optional.

If all else fails, you can always take a long walk somewhere scenic. Not only will this help you to clear your mind and focus better. It will also help you to be a better worker, when you find new ideas that you may have never noticed in the myopia of your desk and computer screen. While it’s great to be a hard worker, you will do yourself a terrible disservice if you don’t also learn how to play.  It’s a necessary skill.

Education And Third World Countries

One of the greatest challenges facing third world countries today is the curse of illiteracy and ignorance. While the government and authorities in these countries are grappling with this problem to the extent possible, the current uncertain economic scenario is making things very difficult in successfully running long term primary and secondary education programs in the third world countries. These programs need to be continued for long periods of time and are very capital and people intensive. The infrastructure needs to be built for teaching children; the school building should have the basic requirements like desks, fans, chairs, table, black and white boards, libraries, computers, internet connections, playgrounds for children. Apart from these infrastructures a lot of recurring expenditure also needs to be arranged by way of teachers and administrative and non-administrative personnel.

While all these are indeed Herculean tasks calling for a massive efforts starting from the ground level, on the other hand we need to understand the socio economic reality. In spite of the best efforts by governments and various NGOs, many parents belonging to the weaker sections of society are in no mood to send there wards to school for education. They feel that sending their children for school would deprive them of one more earning member of the family. This is because most of these children come from agrarian backgrounds and hence spend a lot of time helping their parents.

However, things are starting to look up in many third world countries with active and aggressive participation of both the public and private enterprises. This is too big a job to be left to the government alone and as responsible citizens, big corporate houses should show more interest in this.
